"The Journey," by Douglas Whiting can be read with great love and respect and hope for your enjoyment. This time with complete endorsement, authorization, and  permission from the author, their heirs and publisher! All me!

We did not pay anyone for use of the opening music from Cake ("Wheels," off of "Pressure Chief," or the closing, either (Mr. Scruff's tune "Kalimba" off of Hot Tuna). Our bad.

Northern Trust 2/15/2013

No show this week. Golf

+++++++++

Jerry West has announced that a main goal for him is to recruit Tiger Woods to play next year's Northern Trust Open. Good luck Jerry, I think Tiger has other plans.

Tiger's schedule for the next ten years is fluid, it depends on his health, stamina, and success on tour. Oh, and the first half of February is reserved for anything but west coast PGA events. Today while Bill Hass is trying to hold a lead and win the 2013 Northern Trust Open at Riviera, he will be teeing it up with the president near his home in Florida. Last year he couldn't play Riv because of a conflict in West Asia, where they were paying $3million show money. A couple of years back he was sick. Before or after that the opening of his school in Orange County happened to be scheduled the same week as the tournament.

First PGA event invited to and played in. Local tournament that he spectated at his entire life. A favorite course of Jack Nicklaus, Tiger's stated guiding star of skill and achievement.
Tim Rosaforte calls him the greatest golfer to ever set foot on the planet.

Not only refusing to participate, but actively trying to create news to distract. Is that REALLY what Jack would do?

+++++++++

As 3rd round leader of the 2013 Northern Trust Open at Riviera, Bill Haas has to know it is tough to play with a lead down there in Santa Monica Canyon. First round leader Matt Kuchar is out of the money, as is 2nd round leader and East LA local favorite, Sang-Moon Bea. Young Bill has missed the fairway on one and has 17.5 holes to try to manage and hold his 3 shot lead. I put him at 10 to 1 underdog to the field. Whadaya think?

1a) Apology of the Week is to Delia, who didn't deserve my rant about the spider. I know she was just trying to protect her friends and family. If it is any consolation, DCM, I DO feel crappy about it. Namaste and keep posting, okay? Pissing anybody off shouldn't be a deal-breaker. Don't make the mistake I made and spend 20+ years trying to make everyone around you comfortable and happy at the expense of truth. When the truth is uncomfortable, it is still THE TRUTH, and needs to be heard. Hugs and love and peace and fun to you, woman. And thank you for the story about the spider. Forgive me?

           You could still decide to complete the Los Angeles Marathon on March 17, 2013.
           Well, you COULD! I'll be there, hopefully completing the circuit in less than six hours.
           Write in (or call Friday morning during HWH) and tell me what I should wear. Did I post
           what I had on for the Long Beach Marathon 2012?

Broken Promises: We didn't pay anyone to play the opening music from Cake (Wheels off of Pressure Chief). Or the close tune, either, for that matter (Mr. Scruff playing Hot Tuna, I think). Our bad. Of course, nobody paid us either, so...?
