2)  Other News

Chinese Space Station is up and running! Where is the coverage?

           Disease,
fire, shootings, books about shootings, shootings about books...

2a) Boycott List :  Daft Punk, Cold Play, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Charlie Sheen

3)  Local Loco

Use your library. Introduce yourself. Say anything.

Follow one of these suggestions once in a while and you will have a better
neighborhood. You may even make your way softer during the next disaster.

4)       Calendar

                 Thursdays in Westwood, always.

Friday night on the beaches south of LAX lot of solstice fires. Even a driveby
                  should be cool.

5)        Book List

"How To Practice: The Way To A Meaningful Life," His Holiness, The Dalai
                 Lama

                "The Counterlife," Philip Roth

                 Cloud Atlas

                 Rock of Ages

                 The Story of Stuff

7)        Feature

Sixty nine years ago, my father geared up for his 19th combat mission about the
carrier Bella Wood. I will forever have to imagine his thoughts and feelings.

He said there was no way to get through flak like that and he was right. His plane
took repeated hits and was unable to return to the ship.

What happened has never been told.

Today I take a moment to honor, and to thank him for his sacrifice, and for his crazy
choice to be the only midshipman who couldn't swim.

...and ended up floating in shark infested waters on this day almost seven decades
                ago.

Battle of the Marianas youtube video

Take a minute to enjoy the spinning of the planet in our warm hugging, bubble at this
markable point in the annual loop. Namaste

8)        Lit Minit : "Les Miserables," Victor Hugo.

Thank you so much for reading and listening. I hope you had fun. Now:

No money was paid to anyone for anything here, so look somewhere else!

"The Journey," by Douglas Whiting can be read with great love and respect and hope for your enjoyment. This time with complete endorsement, authorization, and  permission from the author.

We did not pay anyone for use of the opening music from Cake ("Wheels," off of "Pressure Chief") or the close music either:
Spin Doctors "More Than She Knows," too. We will share when the check arrives.
