4) Calendar/Power of Negative Thinking/Gratitude/No Rules

Calendar Day is here, because the year is almost out. That is as good a reason as I need to cut short the show and read a story. Remaining planning time will be partially dedicated with drawing up early 2013 schedule. New weekly segments being considered include: Burning Man 2013, Pacific Crest Trail 2014, Camping, Joy, Life goes on, and whatever bounces off of my psyche between now and then, then being four -- no, three point six short days from right now. Happy Made Another Lap Around The Sun Day.

Power of negative thinking. Being a streak player, I have come to realize that my sunny moods can be matched thought for thought with my dark times. This is just a theory, however. Lately, my perception of myself relative to the rest of it has been a little more bleak. The first holiday in twenty years without my wife has had many wonderful moments. But I have held onto a kind of bleak, drab back drop to it all. Being sad and lonely seems a great insult to the many wonderful people I do have in my life, and who I so frequently push away. I see myself as enduring now largely because of them.
So when you are powering up your positive thoughts and your resolutions, are you also fueling up the tank of an equal and opposite energy?
Gratitude for the above crowd which includes, but is not limited to : Sean, Roxanne, Doug, Doug, Rene, Rene, Frank, Frank, Rick, Ashley, Lisa, Laura, William, James,

5) Lit Minit : "Dolan's Cadillac," Stephen King from Nightmares and Dreamscapes.

Thank you so much for reading and listening. I hope you had fun. Now:

4)  Feature Segment: "Them and Us and Wildly Innapropriate Responses"

The London nurse and the Portland shooter did not live in a vacuum. They
had families and neighbors and peers and co-workers and people near them
much of the time. They did not choose to harm themselves without having
no better option available. This was doubtless due to isolation.

Just like their actions strike us as weird and illogical, their lives were so confusing
and weird and painful to them, that they felt like their best choice was to do this
           damage.

We all have people around us that we ignore. It is exhausting to be otherwise.
But we do have a choice. For myself I choose to engage. I believe that just by
engaging and insisting on respect and mutual acknowledgement you enrich
both lives. We are a social species and we solve problems. When we walk
around blind by choice, we impoverish ourselves with no gain.
